In Nomini Dei
(In the Name of God)
Man’s vivid imagination has created 20,000 gods in all cultures. Every religion claims that theirs is the only true path. For this belief people are willing to kill and get killed because the other side is always the anti-god. “In Nomini Dei”, in the name of God, man has taken the liberty of oppressing his fellow man. The crumbling walls at the right remind us not to rebuild the ruins of archaic institutions and superstitions that have divided humanity throughout the centuries. The large portrait of the woman blended into the background invites us to examine our own personal truths and to view humanity within the greater picture of acceptance and compassion.
(The original painting is from the private collection of Katie & Rod Johnson of Monmouth, Oregon.)
