THE TIME BEING
The past has brought us to a location where we are today. The present moment is the most important tool we possess. The grey periods of a person’s life, experienced by all people in varying degrees, sometimes cause one to fall into the depression shown in the center Grappling with challenges, he or she often hides their pain and struggle, indicated by the dark area under the road. With the help from a variety of resources, one eventually finds their way out. Transported by their own strength and the support of others, they carry the knowledge of this experience, symbolized by the book in hand. The fence serves as a reminder to avoid revisiting the pitfalls of the past. The fern, a fractal of repetition, emphasizes the talents that are practiced. They give our moments meaning and can be treasures of joy. The shoes we choose to slip into can be comfortable and serviceable or not. Like our belief systems, they accompany us for a while until they wear out and we discard them for a newer pair that fits us better. Decades of tomorrows punctuated by trials, learning, and growth, (the infinity symbol) stretch toward the horizon, and are obscured with a veil as no one knows what tomorrow brings.
