It is quite daunting to unveil a very personal expression of yourself for others to view, judge and inevitably critique. Creatives grapple with the fear of finding their modes of self-expression not being validated and of running out of new ideas or a fresh approach. However, successful artists have learned not to add the pigments of fear to their palette. While nourishing their creative spirits, their emotions become their passions and their incentive to offer something new and interesting to the world. They try new tools, learn from others and never stop believing in themselves.
Artists experience the world differently than many. They find beauty in everyday simple things and make connections between the tangible and the intangible. Their work transcends boundaries and takes the viewer to another realm of possibilities. Art is much more than just the materials and techniques used to create it. It has its own heartbeat and its own language. And as with all disciplines in life, an artist's vision and their presentation don't resonate with everyone. So become more visually curious and never stop asking questions. When you think like an artist, you take risks. Each of us has a unique perspective with something to say and that makes it all worthwhile.
